Pre-Trial Hearing Moved for Man Charged in Bella Bond's Death

The body of the two-year-old was found on Massachusetts' Deer Island last year

The man charged in the death of a little girl whose body was found on Massachusetts' Deer Island last year was expected in court Tuesday.

Michael McCarthy of Quincy was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in Suffolk Superior Court, but it has been postponed to June 9.

McCarthy is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of two-year-old Bella Bond. He has pleaded not guilty.

Bella Bond was previously known as "Baby Doe." Her body was discovered in a plastic bag on June 25, 2015. Authorities heavily pursued an investigation into discovering who the child was until her identification in September 2015.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reconstructed the child's face to provide the public with an estimation of what she may have looked like. This generated tips and nationwide attention.
