(NECN: Eileen Curran, Boston, Mass.) - The nation pauses to remember one of the country's greatest civil rights leader on Monday, and Boston is marking the big event with a memorial breakfast.
The 42nd annual event was scheduled to be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday morning.
More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, including business, civic and religious leaders from across Massachusetts.
NECN's own Latoyia Edwards was expected to be the Master of Ceremonies for the breakfast.
The proceeds of Monday morning's breakfast support student scholarships and community programs sponsored by Union United Methodist Church and St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.
