(NECN: Jackie Bruno - Sandwich, Mass.) – As Cape Cod endures a winter storm, heavy winds and biting cold are making outside conditions tough to handle and dangerous for driving.

Sandwich, Mass. was supposed to be one of the jackpot areas in terms of snow accumulation, but it’s difficult to get an exact total with the continuing wind.

Crews have been working through the night to keep roads clear and salted.
