The investigation is ongoing.

(NECN: Kathryn Sotnik, Burlington, Mass.) - Mass. State Police say a mattress that fell off the back of a dump truck is believed to be the cause of a deadly crash on 95 southbound in Burlington, Mass.

A 56-year-old woman from Framingham, Mass. is dead as a result of the crash. She passed away at nearby Leahy Clinic.

Police say around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the mattress fell off a large dump truck out onto the highway.

A white Toyota Corolla tried to avoid the crash and was hit by a red Toyota Tundra pick up truck.

The pick up truck then rolled over. Police say that driver suffered minor, non life threatening injuries.

Just before 8:00 p.m., State Police issued a news release saying they're looking to find the dump truck that lost the mattress.

The truck is described as having a white cab, possibly with black netting or tarp partially covering the bed. The truck bed is also reported to be dark in color with wood along the sides. Police say two white males were in the truck and were carrying multiple additional mattresses.

Collision reconstruction and crime scene teams were investigating shortly after the crash. Traffic was also backed up, reduced to a single lane, for more than an hour.
