(NECN) - As Super Bowl ads hit the $4-million mark, it's becoming even more important for these commercials to make an impression. And for some companies, that means stirring up some controversy before the big game may not be the worst thing.

For the 10th year, NECN Business is proud to team up with ad agency Allen and Gerritsen for our Super Bowl survey.

CEO Andrew Graff is back for another go.

What are advertisers doing to get their money worth?

Social media is huge. And they are creating social experiences for people as they watch the game.

What trends are there?

Ads are filled with celebrities, including everyone from Beyonce to Kate Upton to Usher to Psy.

The other is the usual suspects are back

Graff thinks there will be more sentiment and humor with less craziness to be respectful to the audience watching, given what has happened recently with Sandy Hook shooting, super storm Sandy and the fiscal cliff.
