(NECN) - If you can't afford to be in Sochi this weekend, but you want to see an outdoor sports competition, check out the U.S. National Toboggan Championships in Camden, Maine, where more than 400 sledders are expected. For details check out camdensnowbowl.com.

Jump-start your Valentine’s Day by attending the "Salem so Sweet" chocolate and ice sculpture festival. It starts Friday and runs through Feb. 16. For more information including tickets go to salem.org.
It's not too late to get a date for Valentine’s Day. You can bid on one at Project Cupid's charity date auction. It's happening from 3:00 to 10:30 Friday night. Tickets cost $20. Proceeds go to Dana Farber Cancer Institute to benefit pediatric leukemia research. For more information go to project-cupid.org.
