Lots of snow in Boston, but no record set

BOSTON (AP) — There's a lot of snow out there but Boston, at least, has fallen short of the all-time snow record set in 2003.

The National Weather Service says Boston got 24.9 inches Friday and Saturday, the fifth-highest total on record in the city. The record from 2003 was 27.6 inches, followed closely by the 27.1 inches that piled in 1978.

The other big storms were in 1968 and 1997.
