(NECN) - Vermont State Police confirm they are investigating an apparent double homicide at a home on Route 30 in Hubbardton.

Police say they were called to scene after they received reports of gunshots after 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

When authorities arrived, they found two deceased males outside of the home, according to police.

State police say a male subject is being detained for questioning after authorities found him in a vehicle not at the residence.

Neighbors told affiliate WPTZ they heard four gunshots and heard a car speeding away.
