BELFAST, Maine (AP) — A 41-year-old Maine man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in the strangling death of his girlfriend in 2010.

Dennis Edgecomb changed his plea to guilty on Monday to the death of 42-year-old Pamela Green of Morrill.

According to an affidavit, Edgecomb told detectives that he and Green got into a fight when Green learned he wanted to move out of the home where they lived together in Morrill. WLBZ-TV ( I) reports that Edgecomb told police that he "lost it" and strangled her.

Edgecomb had originally pleaded not guilty to the charge.
