Mansfield, Mass. officials deciding fate of dog

(UPDATE) - Town officials voted to euthanize the dog. The decision was 3-2; the family has a chance to appeal the decision.

(NECN: Eileen Curran, Mansfield, Mass.) - Town officials in Mansfield, Mass. are deciding the fate of a dog who bit and severely injured a young boy.

According to authorities, the boy needed hundreds of stitches.

The hearing turned out quite a few residents who were for and against the euthanization of the dog.

Emotions ran high, especially from the mother of the victim and the teenager who owns the dog.
