(NECN: Jennifer Eagan, Stoughton, Mass.) - A Massachusetts man will be in court today, accused in a deadly weekend home invasion. Police say the crime was not random, but the connection between the man and his elderly victims has not been revealed.

John Rooney, 46, of Randolph is accused of killing a 78-year-old man trying to save his wife during a break-in at the couple's home.

Norfolk District Attorney William Keating says Rooney was arrested at his home yesterday and charged with murder and other offenses in connection with the break-in at Georgios and Dorothea Kontsas's home Saturday morning.

Authorities have not revealed a motive.
