Ex-Spectranetics CEO convicted on 1 count of lying

Mar 1, 2012 9:00pm

DENVER (AP) — The former CEO of a company accused of importing medical devices that the U.S. government hadn't cleared for use has been convicted of a single count of lying to federal investigators.

The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/A5FVO9) a federal jury in Denver convicted former Spectranetics Corp. CEO John Schulte on Thursday of the lying charge but acquitted him of 11 other charges.

Among others charged in the case, jurors acquitted former Spectranetics business development executive Trung Pham of all charges. The company's former vice president of business development, Obinna "Larry" Adighije, is awaiting trial.

Another defendant, outside consultant Hernan Ricaurte, pleaded guilty earlier to concealing a felony.
