Patrick pushes for direct flight from Boston to Israel

(NECN: Alison King, Tel Aviv, Israel) - Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is in Israel.

Patrick landed in Tel Aviv on Monday morning, and shortly after he touched down, he met with Israel's chief scientist to talk about business partnerships between Massachusetts and Israel.

Governor Patrick and the rest of his group also met with the CEO of airline EL AL -- to push for a direct flight from Boston to Israel.

The Governor has a packed scheduled all week, including a meeting with Israel's president on Thursday.

NECN political reporter Alison King is the only television reporter traveling with the Governor overseas.
