(NECN/NBC News: Brian Mooar) - The deadly shooting spree last December at Sandy Hook Elementary School brought Newtown to the attention of the world.

Now, some residents are hoping to put that notoriety to good use.

Twenty-six riders, one representing each victim of the shooting in Newtown, are riding more than 400 miles in support of gun violence prevention.

The cyclists are expected to arrive at Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

NBC's Brian Mooar has more on the story.
