Steve Aveson joined NECN in June 2010 and was named co-host of The Morning Show, in January 2011.
 
Aveson is a TV news veteran with deep experience in New England and nationally.
 
Locally, Aveson has worked as an anchor, reporter and host at WBZ, WFXT, and WCVB in Boston; and at WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island.
 
Nationally, Aveson worked as an anchor, correspondent and host at ABC News, ABC’s 20/20 and ABC’s Good Morning America; the Discovery Channel and the Christian Science Monitor.
 
From Moscow and Madrid to Dublin and Nagano, he has tracked world events and breaking news, and his work has earned him respect as a storyteller along with 6 Emmy awards and the privilege of filing reports from all 50 of the United States.
 
As a college student, Aveson toured the country with The Royal Lichtenstein Circus and then came to Boston as a Founding Member of the Boston Shakespeare Company. During summers he worked as a street performer in Harvard Square, earning tuition toward his eventual degree from Wheelock College.
