(NECN: South Boston, Mass.) - Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sunday, politicians came together at Boston's annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast.

For the first time, Massachusetts Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry of Boston hosted the breakfast, considered one of the city's biggest political events.

Each year, the breakfast gives politicians in the state a chance to tease their colleagues and laugh at themselves.

If there is one thing Southie residents know, it's how to reserve a parking space. Congressman Stephen Lynch took Sen. Forry under his wing and showed her just how to park like the locals.

After the event, South Boston's annual St. Patrick's Day parade is scheduled to take place.
