Israel Abandons Cease-Fire After More Gaza Rockets

Israel resumed military action against Hamas Tuesday, ending an Egypt-brokered cease-fire after Palestinian militants continued to fire rockets over the border. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered airstrikes to resume after Hamas gave no indication that it would accept the deal. Israel's cabinet voted to approve the truce starting at 9 a.m. local time, but air raids sirens sounded across southern Israel more than two hours after the truce came into effect as a barrage of rockets were launched from Gaza.
