UPDATE: Israeli police are calling the bombing of a bus stop in Jerusalem an act or terrorism, according to the Associateed Press. Israeli radio reports one woman has died after the blast.

JERUSALEM (AP) — A bomb has exploded at a crowded bus stop in central Jerusalem, wounding at least 25 people.

The blast blew out the windows of two crowded buses. Rescuers were removing bloodied people from the area on stretchers.

Israel's national rescue service says 25 people were wounded, including 15 seriously. No deaths have been reported.

The blast occurred near the main entrance to Jerusalem and was heard throughout the city.

It comes amid rising tensions between Israel and the Hamas militant group, which has killed hundreds of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks in recent years.

The attacks have halted in recent years. The last suicide bombing to hit Jerusalem was in 2004.
