(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Boston) - Boston police are investigating a shootout in Roxbury that ended with at least one person arrested and one person taken to the hospital.

Authorities say it started when officers approached a group and police say one person in the group threatened an officer. Officials say shots were fired, and one officer did fire a weapon. According to police, one person was shot in the hand, but it's unclear at this point who fired the shot.

"I heard like 15 to 20 shots getting right off. I initially thought it was fireworks, but then there was an elderly woman, like, cowering in the corner of my doorway, and I went downstairs and checked on her and asked her what happened and she said, 'They're shootin', they're shootin','" Kenny Roberts, a witness says.

Police are still questioning several people in the case.
