Royal wedding cake designer selected

(NECN/CNN) - It's the wedding of the year and nearly every day we're getting another new detail about the upcoming royal nuptials. One question many people are wondering about is, who will make the cake?

Fiona Cairns, famous for her fruitcakes and celebrity client list, has been awarded the honors. What was it like to get a call from the palace?

"Terribly exciting. I was just overwhelmed. I felt privileged," said Cairns. "Excited and daunted, all at the same time." 

Kate was reportedly very specific about what she wanted. The main royal wedding cake will be a classic design of cream and white with carefully considered floral decorations, each with a meaning.
