(NECN) – Boston Firefighter Lt. Ed Walsh will be laid to rest Wednesday morning and thousands are expected to attend the funeral.

Walsh, 43, was one of two firefighters who died while fighting a 9-alarm blaze in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood last week.

Walsh is remembered by family and friends as a dedicated family man and firefighter.
