(NECN) -  After a two-week break, members of the Senate will get back to work Monday, and it could be a pivotal week for Congress.

Their first order of business will be to look for ways to reach an agreement on the president's proposals for new gun legislation.

A debate on that could happen as soon as Tuesday. Immigration reform will also be at the top of their agenda.
