Police Officer Hit by Drunk Driver

22-year-old Paige Fagan admitted to drinking and driving

Police and fire personnel in Rye, New Hampshire, were investigating a brush fire at Jenness Beach when an officer was struck by a drunk driver.

Saturday evening, officers were on their way to speak with those responsible for the fire and suddenly a speeding car approached from behind. The car did not slow up. Officer BT Conlon was hit with the car's mirror. The vehicle did not stop and continued driving on.

The vehicle was later stopped. Paige Fagan, 22, of Hampton Falls, admitted to drinking. She was also unaware that she hit an officer. Fagan was talking on the phone when the incident occurred.

Fagan was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of controlled drugs, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle, reckless operation and conduct after an accident.

She was taken to Rockingham County Jail. She posted $10,000 bail.
