(NECN) -  A Massachusetts community is mourning the death of a high school student who was killed after being thrown from the backseat of a car during an accident in Westport over the weekend.
Police say 16-year-old Erika Hall was killed during the accident.
The 16-year-old driver and a front-seat passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash and both of them were wearing seatbelts. Police say Hall was not.

A witness to the crash said, “Makes you really think about wearing your seatbelt all the time, sad that it takes something like this to happen for you to think about it.”

Hall was a sophomore at Westport High School.
The school is providing support and services for students struggling with the loss.
