NH teen home after accident that killed friend

LACONIA, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire teenager is out of the hospital more than a week after she was hurt in a vehicle accident that killed her friend.

Fourteen-year-old Alyssa Miner of Laconia was seriously injured when an SUV struck her and Lilyanna Johnson as they were walking on a sidewalk on April 19. Johnson was killed.

The Citizen reports (http://bit.ly/15WE9OS) Laconia Middle School Assistant Principal Chris Ennis said at a weekend gathering remembering Johnson that Miner is back home and doing well on her road to recovery.

Police, who are investigating the accident, have identified the driver as 52-year-old Amy Lafond.
