(NECN: John Moroney, Boston, Mass.) - A worldwide travel alert is in effect for Americans around the globe.

It was put into place just hours after Osama bin Laden's death was announced.

At Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, there is also a heightened level of security, but officials say it's simply a precaution.
