Woman Struck, Killed by Train

Victim was trespassing on the southbound side of the tracks

A woman was struck and killed by a Red Line train Thursday night at the MBTA Downtown Crossing station.

The victim was trespassing on the southbound side of the tracks when the train struck her around 10 p.m., according to responding officials. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Red Line service was delayed for some time. Shuttle buses were deployed as a result.

Transit Police detectives are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
