CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Authorities say a former top official with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester is under investigation for allegedly having an inappropriate adult relationship and misusing church funds.

Monsignor Edward Arsenault held senior positions in the diocesan leadership for a decade starting in 1999. He left in 2009 and became president of a Catholic mental health center in Maryland.

He resigned Monday.
