(NECN) – Rescue crews from Lunenburg and Pepperell, Mass. had their hands full Tuesday afternoon.

‘Tequila’ the horse got stuck in the mud in a rural, wooded area of Lunenburg.

We’re told Tequila broke through an electric fence that had not been turned on. He was going to eat some of the greenery growing around the swamp when he became stuck in the mud up to his chest.

The horse was rescued by special equipment from the Pepperell Fire Department.

The horse was up and walking after he was rescued.
