(NECN: Melissa Toupin) - Friday was the groundbreaking for the new sports and recreation center at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In addition to a pool and fitness equipment, the facility will have space dedicated to the schools robotics program.

A half million dollar NASA award-winning robot helped with the ground breaking.
