Massachusetts health officials confirm that a case of tuberculosis has been identified at a Brookline day care.
The case was found at the Tiny World Child Care's facility on Beacon Street.
The Mass. Department of Health released a statement that says in part, "DPH is monitoring the situation, and working closely with local officials and the Tiny World Child Care community."
The statement also says, "In line with standard procedure, individuals who might have been exposed have been notified, and testing is being recommended and offered."
Health officials caution that a positive test for tuberculosis infection does not necessarily mean the person has active, infectious tuberculosis and treatment will help prevent active cases.
Parents say an informative meeting will be held Tuesday night from 4 to 6 p.m. about the case.
