A man was arrested Sunday for trying to bring two handguns into the Boston University commencement.

Andrea Massa, 28, is charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm on school grounds as well as disorderly conduct, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office confirms. He will be arraigned Monday.

The Marshfield resident was approaching a check point on Harry Agganis Way when he was stopped.

Massa has a license to carry firearms, but only for hunting and target practice. In addition to the criminal charges, he faces a civil penalty for violating those terms.

He is believed to have been at the ceremony for the graduation of a relative.

NECN will have more as this story develops.
