(NECN: Kristin Welker) - Last week was a rough one for the White House, as the Obama administration came under increased scrutiny in three separate scandals.

The handling of the Benghazi incident, the Justice Department seizure of Associated Press phone records, and the IRS targeting of conservative groups like the Tea Party were the talking points of the week as the President went on the defensive.

This week, Obama is trying to shift the conversation back to the economy in an effort to control the damage.

But Republicans aren't having it, content to press the White House on these issues until all their questions are answered.
