Torey Krug Out for Rest of Bruins' Season With Left Ankle Injury

The Boston Bruins will head into Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning without defenseman Torey Krug.

Team Physician Dr. Peter Asnis issued a statement Saturday saying Krug injured his left ankle during Game 4 of the second round playoff series on Friday. Krug will be out the remainder of the series as he undergoes additional testing to determine the full extent of his injury.

Krug was knocked out of Game 4 in the third period when he was pushed from behind into the corner boards by Tampa forward Alex Killorn, according to NBC Sports Boston.

He was spotted leaving the TD Garden in a walking boot and crutches.

Game 5 between the Bruins and the Lightning takes place in Tampa Bay Sunday at 3 p.m.
