(NECN/CSN) – It’ll be one week on Saturday since the Bruins have played a game, and it will be the first in their Eastern Conference finals series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Comcast SportsNet’s Kevin Walsh is here to discuss the Boston Bruins next playoff round.

Will the Bruins be rested or rusty?

Walsh says a little bit of both, but Pittsburgh is in the same boat, and they’ve actually had one more day off.

He says most guys didn’t do anything hockey related after the New York Rangers series until Tuesday when they started back at it on the ice.

Walsh says the first period Saturday might not be the most crisp hockey but there should be a lot of energy.

With regards to Andrew Ference, Walsh says he has not been medically cleared to play, but he has been practicing and it does not appear that he has any limitations.

At some point, Walsh says, you’ll see him here, but the guys who have been filling in for him and Dennis Seidenberg, Matt Bartkowski and Torey Krug, have been so good that it’s a, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it kind of thing.

Walsh does think the wearing down of the series will cause the young guys to make a couple of mistakes.
