Former Red Sox reliever Manny Delcarmen's request to be released from the Seattle Mariners was granted, according to Mike Curto's Twitter. Curto is the radio play-by-play announcer for the Tacoma Rainiers.
In AAA Tacoma this season, Delcarmen has accumulated a 2-2 record with a 5.14 ERA through 28 innings. He last pitched in the majors after being traded to the Colorado Rockies last season, where he amassed only 8.1 innings.
