UMass grad begins cross country bike trip for Haiti

(NECN: Melissa Toupin) - A member of this year's graduating class from Umass Amherst is trading in his cap and gown this week for a bike helmet and sneakers.

The 22-year-old Gardner man is setting off on a cross-country trip to raise money and awareness for the victims of Haiti.

Jason Defuria is beginning the cross country bike trip that will take him from the hills of central Massachusetts -- to the hilly streets of San Francisco.
