(NECN/KCRA: Roseville, CA) - Downloading apps for your smart-phone is common practice nowadays, but most them are either free or just a few bucks.

So imagine one placer county family's surprise when they got a bill for an App that cost a thousand dollars.

KCRA's Tom Duhain shows what happened and how you can learn from their mistake.

The family got a call from Apple promising a full refund immediately.

The founder of Barmax also told KCRA there are number of applications that cost more than $500.
