Tornado watch for southern New England

(NECN: Tim Kelley) - The National Weather Service storm prediction center has issued a tornado watch for portions of:

Southern Maine
Southern New Hampshire
Rhode Island
Southern Vermont
Coastal waters

Effective this Sunday morning and evening from 11:10 am until 8:00 pm EDT.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 105 statute miles east and west of a line from 10 miles north of Concord New
Hampshire to 40 miles southeast of Harrisburg Pennsylvania.  

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
