(NECN) - We watch the campaign videos so you don't have to - and no one watches them with a sharper eye than John Carroll.
Carroll, an assistant professor of Mass Communication at Boston University and writes on the Campaign Insider blog, says the volume of tv ads in this race isn't as high as he would expect.
"They have money, I think they just don't have the attention of the public. I haven't seen Gomez out there with as many ads as I expected. The ads the ad team does have out there, some of them are funded by state GOP organizations, National Republican Senatorial Committee for instance. He gets on at the end and says 'I approve this ad.' That's totally backwards. You're supposed to let those guys do your dirty work and keep your distance," Carroll says.
