Teen Charged With Murder in Boston Shooting

Boston Police confirm they are responding to a report of a person shot

A teen has been charged with murder after a fatal shooting in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood that took place Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the shooting at 891 Centre Street just before 11 a.m. An officer who was on patrol heard the gunshot and went after the suspects. One of them fired at the officer multiple times, police said.

The officer did not fire his weapon.

Later in the day, police arrested 18-year-old Josiah Zachery from the city's Hyde Park neighborhood.

Zachery also faces a charge for assault with a dangerous weapon on a police officer, as police say he and one other suspect fired at responding officers.

The male victim is believed to be in his 20s, but his identity has not yet been released. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boston Police continue to search for the second suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call (617) 343-4470.
