(TV Diner) - Recently opened on Route 9 in Natick, Feng Shui serves up the perfect balance of relaxing atmosphere and Asian cuisine. This large restaurant is partitioned into a number of simply decorated rooms providing an intimate dining experience with a diverse menu!
With scenes from Fenway Park on the TV in the adjoining lounge, we began with the Red Sox maki; scallop tempura and avocado, topped with tuna and crispy shredded potato. Like the Bosox that night, this was a winner!
Fusion shumai, pairs a traditional dumpling with mango and pineapple salsa served in a phyllo pastry shell. Two for two on the night so far!
House crispy duck, from the Chinese Classics menu, arrived with a breaded, deep-fried duck breast on a bed of stir-fried vegetables. The breading made for a crispy skin, but we'd go for the Peking Duck on the next visit.
Feng Shui's twist on pad thai, made with crisped angel hair noodles, captured the flavor of the traditional, while offering a bit of crunch. Lots of plump shrimp and tender chicken made sharing this dish easy.
There were an array of desserts to choose from. We picked the "exotic bomba", a white chocolate sphere, filled with pineapple, mango and raspberry sorbet that made it fresh. The other dessert, Flute Limoncello, was a light and refreshing frozen parfait.
While we chose to eat family-style Chinese, there are many more choices…a Chinese buffet complete with sushi, a menu of Asian fusion entrees, and a hibachi room for those looking for the entertainment of a Japanese steak house. Feng Shui can host a private function in the spacious and bright sun room.
For a creative array of asian dishes, great use of space, and reasonable prices we give feng shui the gold plate. Check out the other locations in Chelmsford, Cohasset and soon in Tyngsboro. The Natick address is 801 worcester st. You can call them at 508.651.1234 or find out more online at www.gofengshui.com
