Buildings in Ferguson, Missouri, that had been damaged in the aftermath of protests, prompted by the killing of Michael Brown, are getting a makeover. Protesters burned and looted businesses seemingly unrelated to the incident. A total of 11 buildings were burned in the aftermath, and 250 businesses were damaged by protests, looting, and loss of foot traffic. Thanks to a grant of $500,000 from the St. Louis County Economic Development Partnership, money will be allocated to tear down six buildings and beautify new building along the center of town.
