Needham, Mass. teen sets sights on Olympics

(NECN) - The summer Olympic games are about to get started in London, and a local girl has her eyes on the gold.

Aly Raisman is an American artistic gymnast who is a three-year member of the U.S. National gymnastics team.

The 18-year-old Needham, Mass. native recently competed in the U.S. Visa National Championship in St. Louis, where she finished first in the country in the floor, first in the country on the beam, and third in the country overall. 

Aly continues to train for the Olympic trials which is a two-night competition June 29 - July 1 in San Jose, Calif.

On July 1, immediately following the trials, Aly will find out whether or not she makes the Olympic team for the London Games. 

She joined "The Morning Show" to discuss her passion and her goals in reaching the Olympics. Watch the attached video for more.
