(NECN: Julie Loncich, Beverly, Mass.) - A Beverly, Mass. Police dispatcher confirms they got a call around 3:30 a.m. Monday for a 24 year-old Beverly woman locked in the rear of her vehicle on Route 128 northbound near exit 17 in Wenham.

Two passing motorists stopped to assist what they believed was an accident on the side of the road. When they stopped, they heard a woman trapped and smashed the hatch of the vehicle to free her.

State Police, Wenham Police and Beverly Police responded.

According to the victim, on Sunday night, two masked men entered her Beverly apartment and abducted her. The suspects forced her to drive her car then made her pull over and locked her in the rear of her vehicle where she was found.

Aside from some minor scrapes and bruises, the victim was not injured. She refused medical attention and is physically okay.

She is still being questioned at Beverly Police Headquarters. Police say this appears to be targeted but add that the woman did not know her alleged abductors.

Police in the meantime are looking for at least two suspects. The only description of the alleged suspects is that they are white males.
