(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - The death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd remains a big mystery, but for his family, the last five days have been especially painful.

Lloyd's body was found Monday not far from the North Attleboro, Mass. home of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. His family says Lloyd was good friends with Hernandez, with the two men dating sisters. Hernandez is engaged to one of the women.

They did say Lloyd was with Hernandez and others on the night he died.

One relative told NECN Lloyd was picked up at his home in Dorchester Sunday because he didn't have a car. His family would not say who picked him up. They're at loss to explain what happened, but they do know what kind of person their loved one was.
