Mass. State Police trooper struck by drunk driver

(NECN) - A Massachusetts State Trooper is in the hospital after being hit by a drunk driver.

It happened on Route One in Saugus, Mass. overnight Thursday.

The trooper was hit while conducting a traffic stop.

He was taken to Mass General with neck and back pain. State police described his injuries as minor.

The driver was taken into custody. State police have not released his name just yet.
