Police give all clear on scene of possible explosive device

Mansfield, Massachusetts police investigated a possible explosive device on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a suicidal man on Saturday. The individual was combative and officers attempted to stabilize him for transport to Sturdy Hospital.

While on scene, officers noticed what appeared to be homemade explosive devices in the apartment and in the backyard.

They evacuated the area around the Bicentennial Court apartment to investigate. Police said no one was in danger, but they advised the public to avoid the area during the bomb squad investigation.

The scene was cleared around 11 a.m.
