(NECN) - Massive amounts of demonstrations are expected Sunday in Egypt against Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi. During Saturday's protests, the Tamarud movement announced it received 22 million signatures for a petition to withdraw confidence from Morsi, who has been in office for one year.

American student Andrew Pochter was killed during protests in Egypt on Friday. Pochter was interning in Egypt and teaching English to children when he was killed during protests in Alexandria.

A former classmate, Will Stabler, said he was stunned to hear the news. "It's just so sad that he was off doing something so admirable... and something like that happens to him," Stabler said.
