NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man who told family members he was going fishing has been found dead on a Northbridge pond.

The Worcester district attorney's office says 58-year-old Jerzy Szydlik told relatives he was going fishing on Saturday.

When he did not return home, his family reported him missing.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that his body was found by two kayakers on Meadow Pond at about 11 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled but there are no signs of foul play.

Szydlik's canoe was recovered from the pond and his car was parked nearby.
